SAN FRANCISCO, CA, UNITED STATES, January 7, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- As school districts nationwide struggle to retain classroom educators, DevLand AI has released TeacherLIFT, a free artificial intelligence grading application designed to reduce one of teaching's most time-consuming tasks. The app, developed in partnership with IBM, is now available on the Apple App Store.

The United States faces a teacher shortage that has reached critical levels. According to the National Education Association, 55 percent of educators are considering leaving the profession earlier than planned. Administrative burdens, including grading, consistently rank among the top contributors to teacher burnout.

The average K-12 teacher spends between five and seven hours per week evaluating student work—time often borrowed from evenings, weekends, and family obligations. For many educators, the grading backlog forces difficult choices: assign fewer assessments, provide less feedback, or sacrifice personal time indefinitely.

TeacherLIFT offers an alternative. The mobile application enables educators to photograph student assignments and receive AI-generated grades and detailed feedback within seconds.

"Teachers entered this profession to inspire students, not to spend their nights buried in paperwork," said Michael Kessler, CEO and Co-Founder of DevLand AI. "Every hour returned to a teacher is an hour they can invest in the classroom—or in their own lives."

Enterprise Security for the ClassroomStudent data privacy remains a persistent concern for school administrators evaluating new technology. High-profile data breaches in the education sector have made districts increasingly cautious about adopting digital tools.

DevLand AI developed TeacherLIFT using a Secure-by-Design framework, embedding FERPA compliance into the application's foundational architecture. The partnership with IBM provides enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure and security protocols typically reserved for large institutions.

"Districts should not have to choose between protecting student privacy and giving teachers modern tools," said Michael Kessler. "That is a false choice, and TeacherLIFT eliminates it."

The platform does not sell or share student data under any circumstances, according to the company.
Accessibility as a Priority TeacherLIFT is available at no cost to educators—a deliberate decision by DevLand AI to maximize reach.

Teachers in underfunded districts often lack access to the technology tools available in wealthier school systems. By removing the price barrier, DevLand AI aims to ensure that resource constraints do not determine which educators benefit from AI assistance.
The application is currently available on iOS, with an Android version in development.
